That would be the fast decomposition of creatine into creatinine; a toxic waste product only excreted by the kidneys. I discovered this through experience, It didn’t occur to me that things degrade out of their respective base property in unfavorable conditions. I became really ill after consuming creatine in a big jug of water or juice throughout the work day for a week or two straight. Only after doing research i found that, creatine degrades to creatinine quicker suspended, and even more so in anything acidic like juice. If you supplement with creatine as lot of us do, i would consume it immediately. Theoretically at least a little bit of the creatine could even degrade in the stomach before you could absorb it all. A side note, I enjoy it with baking soda. It potentiates both substances, could possibly help with this problem of rapidly degrading as well, try it out. I believe we should avoid products with creatine in them like canned pre workout drinks to avoid this potential issue, we do not know if it is already degraded within the products. Keep your powders dry. Thats all I wanted to share, thank you for reading the insight.

Many people report "creatine sickness" and the usual answer is "that shouldn't be possible". Thank you for sharing
