As an adult I've been drinking milk fairly regularly for a few years now, it's mostly tasted the same but have noticed sometimes I would have some milk which was delectible. I've also had very weird tasting milk which a few times was on discount, implying the supermarket knew something was off and still sold it.

I've read before that milk during Spring/Early Summer is the best, due to the fast growing grass and cows being put to pasture. I'm now a believer in this as have noticed quite a stark difference this year. When thinking about it, we've had a lot of rain over Winter and Spring, then recently drier sunnier weather, meaning the ground has started to firm up enough for cows to be out in the fields without creating mud baths.

Has anyone also noticed milk tasting better at this time of year?

I live on a small acreage and raise goats for dairy, no doubt the milk is the tastiest and most nutrient dense in the spring/summer when they are free grazing and the grass is growing rapidly.

I've never noticed myself but have read years ago that the seasonal taste variation works it's way to the cheeses too, parmigian and or romano. Early season production being either sweeter or saltier ... can't remember.
