The subjects were given a one-ounce dispenser and advised to apply a thin layer once each morning to the areas of baldness. The formulation was made of a whole plant extract (CBD 60.00%, CBDV 12.63%, THCV 3.71%, delta 9 THC 0.18%, cannabigerol 0.86%, and cannabinol 0.05%). This hemp extract was independently analyzed by ACS Laboratory, Sun City Center, Florida. Each one ounce of the formulation contained active ingredients of 1 g of this hemp extract, 5 g of menthol, 600 g of peppermint oil-infused into a vehicle of 5 g of ethanol, 600 g of Emu oil and 14.9 g of Hexafluoroacetone (HFA) 134A (1,11,2-tetrafluoroethane) propellant, and 900 ml of dimethicone. The one-ounce foam spray or tincture lasted approximately 1 month on average. This is an average daily dose of 33 mg of topically applied hemp extract. The subjects were advised that they could use blow dryers, conditioners, and shampoos. The formulation was replaced as needed throughout the 6-month trial.
I can’t figure out how to easily post photos here. There are impressive before and after photos.

@Ecstatic_Hamster you can drag and drop the images if you have them saved

This is not that surprising. I thought it was pretty well known that THC / cannabinoids are antiandrogenic. Specifically interfering with DHT if I recall the “official” mainstream interpretation.
I recall some on RPF speculating that THC is progestogenic and/or progesterone sparing? I wonder if it is like caffeine in the sense that helpful/harmful rides on caloric intake.

I forgot to add, THC is immune suppressive and potentially causes atrophy of immune organs like thymus, lymph nodes. I am of the opinion that hair loss is an immune balance issue, so this would support that angle.

@saturnuscv where is your evidence for this. I do not believe it. Cannabis helps prevent COVID for instance. It can get rid of cancer.

Seems like hemp was a minority ingredient in the formula (1g vs 5 g of menthol and 600g of peppermint oil).
This is probably due to their stipulation that "The effects of CBD on hair growth are dose dependent and higher doses may result in premature entry into the catagen phase through a different receptor known as TRPV4."Furthermore, the authors conclude that "Although the exact mechanism of therapeutic effects is not entirely clear, CBD is most likely functioning as a CB1 receptor antagonist, through negative allosteric effects, and potentially also through Wnt messaging. THCV and CBDV are acting as full CB1 neutral antagonists and through TRPV1 agonism. The menthol and peppermint (40% menthol) are probably acting by promoting the rapid onset of anagen phase.[1]"
N.B. While hemp helps to maintain anagen (i.e., growth) phase, first you need to start it. I'd say menthol would be more effective for hair growth than based on the above.

@Ecstatic_Hamster cannabis is most helpful for lymphatic and immune cancers because it causes those systems to atrophy. It is not known to be helpful for all or most types of cancer beyond potentially as a palliative for chemo symptoms.
Quite literally google “THC thymus atrophy” and there are multiple studies that confirm this effect in vivo.
