Can anyone share any of Peat's information on the health benefits of pregnancy for the mother, including information about having multiple children? I need this information since some people seem to think its a given that pregnancy damages a woman's body.

@dan-saintdominic As an anecdote, I know of a woman who had a rare disorder where some specific nerve was damaged/underdeveloped since birth and it caused her a host of minor issues. After having a baby, all issues associated with that nerve vanished. Who knows what miracle of stem cells caused it to happen, but it's certainly interesting. Also, pregnancy makes boobies bigger, an obvious benefit.

There is a Hungarian study that Ray cites about up to 8 kids reducing all cause mortality. Months and months of increasing progesterone being protective on all fronts.

An anecdote that i thought was very interesting was Jon Jones (arguable greatest MMA fighter of all time), along with his brothers Chandler and Arthur Jones (both NFL players) were birthed by a diabetic mother who later died from the illness. Obviously not enough to say there’s a direct correlation but interesting that a diabetic mother gave birth to 3 freak athletes
