        You burned the shit out of them if they're black, lol. But the cal carbonate is still probably okay. For future reference, I find saving the shells from boiled eggs to be the best. The boiling sterilizes them in the cooking process, so no need to reboil them. Just make like a big bowl of eggsalad or something to eat on for the week and you've instantly got a new batch of shells ready to be ground. You can let them air dry for a day before grinding them if you're worried about burning them in the oven.
