      Hello folks,

beeing a fair skinned phenotype can be stressfull during high heat summertime, especially if you want to cool down and swim in the sea and lakes.
Since I‘ve heard substances like caffein, niacinamide and salycylic acid can be protective agains excessive uv rays, I‘m wondering what would happen if I mix all together with coconut oil and apply the paste on the skin.

What are your thougts about this mixture? Can it be harmfull?

      Kind regards

Personally as a test i would only prepare a small batch and test it on one fairskinned area, like a shoulder for instance. Keep a close watch, hour by hour, to make sure the skin isn't being burned or damaged somehow. My own concern with your ingredients is an unexpected reaction upon blending or applying to skin, ie; coconut oil + salicyclic acid + skin oil. Keep in mind that it's my own personal FUD at play here.

Otherwise the few times i've used sunscreen since ditching PUFA was a coconut oil plus Lugol's iodine blend. It does seem to work btw. The other substances you've mentioned i supplement regularly, i imagine it'll also help with sun exposure when taken internally.

IIRC Ray listed Zinc Oxide as the safest for protecting against UV. Some companies sell a balm, usually cocoa/shea butter and beeswax mixed with Zinc Oxide.

I actually bought such a balm last summer and used it a few times but in the end didn't see the point because my skin wasn't even burning without it anyway.
