Can you cancel an edit for a post without deleting the post?

Hi, I activated one of my earlier posts so that I could copy/paste part of it into another post on another thread. Now I want to cancel the edit without deleting my earlier post. Is it possible to simply "cancel" an edit? The choices shown are Hide, Discard, and Submit. I've tried clicking Submit so I could simply then delete a possible duplicate post, but I seem to be caught in a loop and I get the message that I must wait 3600 seconds before posting the edit. It's been maybe 5-10 minutes. This pertains to my post on the thread, How to lower Adrenaline. Thanks.

@mostlylurking Now I've got two edits stacked up/hidden on the side of my screen. Does anyone know how to cancel/delete an edit without deleting the original post?

If I choose "Discard", the message states, "do you really want to delete this post?" I don't want to delete the original post; I want to cancel the Edit. Is it possible to cancel/delete an Edit without deleting the original post?

@mostlylurking Nevermind, I figured it out. If some time has passed (more that 3600seconds?), then "Delete Post?" actually means "Delete Edit?" and choosing "Delete Post?" deletes the edit without deleting the original post.
