Hyperthyroidism after Thyroid Supplementation
-
Last winter I started taking cynoplus after a year of suspecting hypothyroidism and while it fit my symptoms, I didn't experience any major alleviation from the supplement. I continued taking it because I thought my low energy and adjacent condition were just the usual experience I had every winter. In March I got a blood panel, which showed my TSH being 0. Since then, further blood testing has shown elevated FT3 and FT4, as well as antibodies indicating Graves disease. I have since tried supplementing magnesium, selenium, taurine, glutamine, baking soda, and myo-inositol + Idealabs products EstroBan and CamphoSal. Additionally, some occasional red light exposure for my thyroid. These things have subjectively improved my symptoms slightly but haven't really moved the needle on my bloodwork. I continue to experience an elevated heart rate (~80, up from 65, spiking quickly to 110+ when exerting myself), heart palpitations, gut irritation, brain fog, sleep issues (although these have improved a little on a higher dose of magnesium), fatigue, and quick mood shifts. Ideas for further action include cabbage juice (goitrogens), further cofactor supplementation, and potentially progesterone, although I have become much more wary of exogenous hormones. Could anyone point me towards some articles or literature on this topic? Otherwise, I would also appreciate any thoughts and advice. Ty
