Peat is wrong about beta carotene
-
Hes also wrong about Iodine but beta carotene one is very misguided and uncharacterestic of Peat. How can something which literally makes you attractive by imparting a healthy glow on your face be construed as unhealthy. Vitamin A from liver is a toxic dump on the organism with no regulatory mechanism. Vitamin A gets the blame but its actually animal vitamin A that's the problem. Beta carotene undergoes cleavage through enzymes and the latter depend on the vitamin A status of the body. If stores are saturated the enzymes undergo downregulation. I regret even trying a few retinol palmitate supplements, yes it did have somewhat of a progesterone like action but I felt very weird like my eyes became watery and itchy, and my cognition dropped. INB4 try liver broo, liver has more retinol esters than actual retinol which is prolly why people dont feel THAT bad (and maybe even better but thats prolly cause of the B vitamins) when they eat liver. If they ate something pure retinol like whale liver or whale fat or something IDK theyd understand.
