Purifying bad supplements
-
Wondering what you guys do with your bad quality supplements that have fillers or other impurities.
I know peat generally opts for topical administration, but I was wondering if filtering supplements through paper filters, or combining with e.g. baking soda would help.

Don't buy them?

Probably not worth the attempt unless you know a proven technique.
For aspirin with too many excipients you can put one in 6oz of water for 5-10 minutes, do not stir. Afterward slowly pour out 5oz of water into another cup leaving the sludge behind for disposal.
B vitamins are tricky as they do not "survive" alkaline water very well, potentially ruling out baking soda as a purifier. B vitamins can survive certain acidic conditions but only to an extent.
Coffee filters, especially multi-layer can filter a bit more than expected. It will even grab onto minerals/metals to a degree including magnesium, calcium and lead. Coffee filters even filter out certain substances from coffee grinds including cafestol and kahweol, for better or for worse i do not know.
Of course it's simply better to purchase more pure products to avoid any of this.

@duckman I know people who literally supplement silicon dioxide directly , like grams of it, and these are already at least somewhat chronically ill people who tend to log effects and nobody said anything I saw about it causing problems, I think the supplement excipient is le bad in peatarian world is kinda neurotic
