Yet another study demonstrating that the genetic explanation we have been given for most chronic diseases is likely bunk, and that the risk of such diseases can be explained through environmental factors, even though said risk if heritable. I just did a post on the fact that male exposure to microplastics damages male sperm and can cause obesity/diabetes in the offspring. Well, now the study below demonstrates that maternal thyroid function during pregnancy may determine the risk that the child develops obesity/diabetes after being born. Not only this demonstrates the environmental origin of the most prevalent chronic conditions in “developed” countries, but it also highlight the fact that obesity/diabetes are little more than symptoms of low metabolism, and as such likely treatable with pro-metabolic substances such as thyroid, aspirin, calcium, vitamin D/K, emodin, progesterone, pregnenolone, DHEA, androgens, etc.

“…A recent study has identified a potential link between maternal thyroid function and childhood obesity, utilizing machine learning to predict obesity risk in children. Researchers examined data on iodine deficiency and thyroid hormone levels during pregnancy, analyzing their impact on the likelihood of childhood obesity. The findings suggest that maternal thyroid health may play a role in determining long-term weight outcomes for offspring. The study highlights the growing concern over the global rise in childhood obesity, which has been associated with serious health risks such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and metabolic disorders later in life. Researchers employed advanced machine learning techniques to analyze complex datasets, aiming to uncover patterns between maternal thyroid activity and childhood weight trends. The research underscores the importance of understanding prenatal factors that could influence obesity rates among children.”
