Trying out "T3 only" therapy -Wilson Protocol
-
Increase dose by 7.5 mcg/dose/day
• Day 1 > 7.5 mcg (am), 7.5 mcg (pm)
• Day 2 > 15 mcg, 15 mcg
• Day 3 > 22.5 mcg, 22.5 mcg
• Day 4 > 30 mcg, 30 mcg
•
…
• Day 10 > 75 mcg , 75 mcg
• no higher on this cycle, just to be cautiousIf no issues, keep going up on the T3 (notice that
this is irrespective of body temperature)…you
cannot really overdo the temperature.
• Once on 75 mcg BID…stay there for about 3 days
and then cycle down every 2–3 days (or slower).
• Thus, the first cycle is only up to 75 mcg BID and
lasts about a month.
• Ask the patient to check their body temperatures
about 2–3 times/day for a couple of days to see if
and how it has changed;----to finish the cycle
Weaning off the T3 slowly (decreasing the dose
every 2–6 days) gives the thyroid system and
pathways more of a chance to come back on line
and maintain any progress in temperature and
symptoms that has been obtained from the cycle
of T3. (lots of good information about the protocol from easy online searches)Supposedly 2-3 cycles to fix a cronically low temperature that doesn't have a high TSH assoicated with it.

what is this shit, 30 mcg will make you feel like ephedrine overdose.

Has anyone here tried the Wilson Protocol? At first blush, this really does seem to be a dangerous therapy plan.

T3 only user here. I currently take 87.5 mcg / day. I would suggest you ramp up (much) more slowly. When I was increasing my t3 I continued to notice positive changes for at least a week without changing my dose. I only increased once things seemed to become stable, my heart rate was not excessive, and I wasn't noticing further changes. T3 needs to be respected.
Also, fwiw my response to thyroid was pretty subdued until I started taking vitamin D, so if your levels are low, you might want to consider supplementing that first.

@linx Have you ever tried combination T3/T4 therapy? Over what timeline have you worked up to 87.5mcg T3 daily?
