Magnesium euphoria
-
2 years ago, before ever coming across peat or messing around with nutrition (classic gym diet era), I popped magnesium glycinate. I probably bought it because it was becoming mainstream in the lifting circles to care about magnesium
That first time I'll never forget. I woke up to the beauty of the sun, went to the terrace, and saw every part of the world around me. The breeze felt like angels sharing a hug, the trees swayed to tell a whole story, and I was pumping out pull ups. It was a feeling of deep satisfaction with everything in sight, and the entire life situation at the time, whilst being perfectly rooted and aware of handling any situation in my immediate environment
Eggs never tasted better
At the time this happened, I never experimented with substances or doses. I hit the gym regularly and had/have goals and ambitions.
This experience was a one-off; it never happened again. I did try to chase it a bit for fun, but didn't think too much of it
Just reminiscing and wondering if this sense of euphoria can actually be achieved casually on a daily basis, without chasing it

This could be due (in part) to magnesiums pharmacological effects, particularly blocking glutamate (NMDA antagonism). This has some positive effects on the dopamine system (the "D2" receptor), alongside general relief from excess glutamate (excitotoxicity).
