I've been taking T3 for two weeks now, around half a Cynomel a day (spaced out over multiple doses every couple of hours). My temperatures haven't come up and I still get weird sensations in my chest. Is it safe to say it isn't working for me and I need to stop and figure out what else is wrong? Or should I stick with it a little longer? Should I increase the dose?

@scamp Yeah I’d reel it back and maybe address other things first as t3 should directly raise temps.

Maybe check to see if u have enough cholesterol and vitamin D levels.

Could be high free fatty acids from stress blocking t3 so making sure diet is in check, eating regularly, sleeping well, sunlight, aspirin could help too.

Second the comment about circulating FFAs, these will complete negate the ability of the body to utilize the T3 when you eat it. How's your diet? Really stressed out? You could try a few weeks on a zero or very low PUFA diet (ex milk, boiled potatoes, lean beef, gelatin and lots of carrot salad) to see if the digestion improves and the T3 becomes effective.

Interestingly I haven't taken any today and my temperature is currently 36.7 C

@Galaroc not stressed out at all but my diet isn't great. Can you tell me more about circulating FFAs? This is caused by eating a lot of PUFAs? How do they negate T3?

@BroJonas Cholesterol was slightly high last I checked, vitamin D low. What exactly does aspirin do and what do you guys mean when you talk about using it, like how much aspirin should I be taking and what effect is it meant to have? I've been taking one or two 100mg tablets a day recently.

FFAs are free fatty acids, with the worst kind being polyunsaturated. They circulate in your blood when consuming higher fat content that is not completely metabolized. The mechanism of action is something I am not sure about, I have heard Ray, Danny and Georgi speak about this in various podcasts. Here are two links to the RPF to start your investigation, the first on FFAs and thyroid and the second on FFAs and aspirin. Keep this thread up as I would love to see what you learn.

@Galaroc Thanks for the links, I will have a read. Currently I've stopped taking T3 and am going to try and improve my diet before I try again.
