Bifidobacteria is considered a keystone ins\testial species and its propulations appear to decline with age.

I make a Bifidobacteria yogurt. I use the same time and temperature that I used when making Reuteri yogurt.

Improvement in Lactose Tolerance in Hypolactasic Subjects Consuming Ice Creams with High or Low Concentrations of Bifidobacterium bifidum 900791

Interestingly, though less H2 excretion was only reported with the ice cream containing the higher probiotic content, our results indicate that digestive symptoms were significantly decreased not only with this product, but also with the ice cream containing the low B. bifidum concentration.
            L. acidophilus in milk attenuated symptoms at concentrations of 10^9 but not 10^8 CFU/mL, while L. bulgaricus reduced exhaled H2 and digestive symptoms at both concentration.
100 million per ml. 100ml of milk = 10 billion CFU of b. bifidum needed

our study suggests that ice cream containing low concentrations (10^5 CFU/g) of this probiotic strain are also successful in improving lactose tolerance in hypolactasic subjects.
            * 10 million of b. bifidum works for tolerating 100g of icecream, eaten simultaneously (or does it have to be in the icecream for a while?)
** 3 b. species also help tolerate opiod peptoid symptoms from milk??

adhesion studies with 15 different strains of bifidobacteria identified B. bifidum as the species showing the highest adhesion to the tested cell lines
We found that adhesion increased considerably when bacterial cells were suspended in PBS containing fucose or mannose. Interestingly, fucose and mannose have been reported as the most abundant sugars present in the surface glycopeptides of Caco-2 cells [24]. It could be speculated that the binding with fucose or mannose can induce changes on the surface of the bacterial cells that bringabout the drastic increase of the adhesion https://www.academia.edu/5983180/Study_of_the_Adhesion_of_Bifidobacterium_bifidum_MIMBb75_to_Human_Intestinal_Cell_Lines
(doesnt stick to stomach if eating on empty stomach at low pH , only where ph goes >4 lower down) The non-adhering aggregates generated by MIMBb75 at gastric pH(i.e., under pH 4), in fact, can potentially confer a protec-tion toward the gastric transit. Once in the intestinal tract, the cell clusters disaggregate due to increasing pH andbacterial cells can subsequently adhere to the epithelium

some sugar , or milk, or colostrum , or yeast extract for feeding. (yeast extract works best way better than others for some reason) , mucin in the intestine also feeds it so it stimulates more production https://www.journalofdairyscience.org/article/S0022-0302(88)79926-9/pdf)

IgG isolated from mature milk also resulted in significant increases in adhesion of the Bifidobacterium strains tested albeit at reduced levels.
*** ^ normal milk works too but less than colostrum , stimulates more bifidobacterium adhesion to small intestine

            PHGG increases too & mucin

            • Fascinatingly, mucin metabolism as performed by B. bifidum could activate enhanced production of mucin, thus enhancing the depth of the mucus layer wrapping the mucosa and, thus, strengthening the epithelial barrier function

Living streams bifido was the brand promoted by Patrick Timpone. Does anyone use it, or use it to seed a yogurt?

You make the L. Reuteri also.

                  Do you cycle them?
                  Do they co-exist?

I make them separately. I mix the ingredients in a big bowl and then use a funnel to transfer the mixture into 3 Mason jars. I place the jars into the pot that I use.

You could simultaneously ferment two different bacteria together or in separate Mason jars, I prefer to keep the bacteria separate because one may out compete that other over time. Even though they may start as a 50-50 mixture, after several batches of using the previous batch as feedstock the ratio may drift away from being equal amounts of each.

You don't alternate weeks, for example.

Yes, most days. Dr. Davis has written a book entitled "Supergut". The front cover of the book suggests that microbiome can be restored in 4 weeks.

After 4 weeks of daily consumption, having yogurt 2-3 times a week is needed to maintain the microbiome.

Do you think you have had improvements you would attribute to the yogurt?

Yes. In 2010, I suddenly became very sensitve to nightshades. I have avoided all nightshade since then. I am even sensitive to small amounts of paprika that is used in seasoning. A few months after eating L. reuteri and bifidobacteria yogurts, I decided to test my sensitivity. I ate 3 pieces of homemade pizza and I had no adverse reaction.

It is difficult to recolonize the gut. It has been suggested that it may take 2 or 3 years before the changes to the microbiome become permanente. Until then the L. reuteri and bifidobacteria are just transient bacteria and they will disappear after a few weeks.

S2099 Persistent Damage to the Gut Microbiome Following Messenger RNA SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine

We longitudinally recorded the relative abundance of genus Bifidobacteria in 4 subjects before receiving mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna), approximately one month after vaccine, and 6 to 9 months later. Additional SARS-CoV-2 vaccines were given during that period, totaling 2 to 3 doses. Samples were collected at the timepoints mentioned. There were no diet changes or new medication’s during the entire period and subjects were told to stay on the same regimen throughout the 6 months. Metagenomic next generation sequencing-based methods were applied to samples obtained from fecal collection. DNA was extracted, and the library prepped, enriched and sequenced on an Illumina Nextseq 550 system. Relative abundance of Bifidobacteria decreased after 1 month to in 3 of 4 subjects to: 38%, 258%, 49% and 90% of pre-vaccine levels. After 6-9 months, all Bifidobacteria relative abundance decreased to: 15%, 0%, 35%, and 60% of pre-vaccine levels.
