SIBO Insight - HAIDUT repost: Gut serotonin (due to bacteria) is the master regulator of metabolism, insulin sensitivity

Reposting @haidut's 2019 post which has been one of the most practically insightful for me.
http://haidut.me/?p=557What I've come to notice after about a year trying to cure my SIBO is that FRUIT with even low fat is perhaps the most debilitating thing for me. I think that most fruit (excl maybe raspberries and pomegranate) have a damaging ratio of soluble fiber to carbohydrate than say boiled potatoes and most well cooked starches.
My amateur recommendation that I know maybe Georgi even would disagree with is to avoid fruit and for carbs to actually consider high quality whole grain, esp high insoluble fiber whole wheat products which have generally decent minerals, b vitamins if you can handle the gluten and avoid pesticides. Most important they are highly accessible and cheap. I say this based on what has enabled me to be more bm regular and enabled me to have glycogen repletion/reduction of chronic fatigue while healing.

So if you can’t tolerate wheat and have SIBO, what foods would you recommend? I too, have issues with many fruits. I try to peel the skin off of most fruits before I eat them. I think this helps but I still feel inflamed. I skin dates, peaches etc. I can’t eat apples or pears at all. Please help, like you I’ve had it probably for 10 years but only heard of term SIBO this year.
