Hyperthyroidism or Estrogen Dominance from Progesterone?
-
I've been taking small amounts of Progest-E, 1 unpopped popcorn kernel sized drop per week for three weeks, and I've been having some odd symptoms. For the first dose there was the expected calming effect, the second nothing really noticeable, and then with the third I've had a myriad of symptoms: fatigue, depression, mood swings, nausea, reduced appetite, up to four days out from the most recent dose.
The two possible reasons I've come up with is the progesterone raising estrogen levels, since I'm male, or the following from Generative Energy:
"...estrogen dominance can create a vicious circle, in which excess estrogen (or deficient progesterone) blocks thyroid secretion, causing the liver to allow estrogen to accumulate to even higher levels. Progesterone (even one dose, in some cases) can break the cycle. However, if the gland is very big, the person can experience a few months of hyperthyroidism, as the gland returns to normal."
This was the purpose of trying the progestrone in the first place, but of course Peat says "it is better to allow the enlarged gland to shrink more slowly by using a thyroid supplement" in the next sentence lol.
Not all the symptoms line up with either theory neatly. I'm open to the idea that the problem is unrelated, but I haven't been able to identify any other potential causes and this is the only recent change to my diet/supplements. My current plan is to stop taking it and let everything stabilize. Anyone have experience with this?

@splithead_ And my temps are up by about 0.2-0.4F to 97.6F, so very nearly Broda baseline.
