also take antacids to help
Not a good idea to solve the problem so, on long term.
Optimize with pH when eating (starch 7.5; meat 3.5) => 2/3 and 1/3 or the contrary.
No legume (anti-protease).
Make 4 small meals rather than 3 big ones.
Limit drinking to 4 oz when eating, not to dilute gastric acid.
Digestion is at top level between 11 - 14 o'clock (for meat).
Eat fibber at the beginning of the meal (20-30' time for digestion). To avoid stagnation.
Bloating = fermentation. A high level of sugar is going to make it harder for controlling fermentation.
Eat rather home made food (less additive and simple).
How is your poo ?
If hard: need water and fibber.
if it contains glairs or pieces, the problem won't be dealt on the same way. -
Sounds like you gave yourself SIBO and overall tanked your metabolism.
Veganism is a disaster for humans, it can only somewhat work on a very high carb low fat diet like DurianRider promotes. Even then its most likely unsustainable and just not fit for humans.
Id suggest first removing most of the fiber as you are just feeding bacteria at this point. Add back in animal products for nutrition.
Then get off the PPIs, they are a death sentence. If you are having trouble with gerd you can try famotidine and digestive enzymes.
You can try the betaine HCL protocol to see if you actually have low stomach acid which would most likely be the case.
lastly look into L. Reutari yogurt and S. Boullardi to out compete the dysbiosis in your digestive tract.

@eduardo-crispino great, thanks!

@LucH great, thanks! my poo is hard at least half the time. i will drink more water. but many people mentioned that it is not good to consume alot of fibre, or soluble fibre? what do you think?
-
@Zachs great. i am trying to remove most soluble fiber, also removing resistant starch, removing high fodmap and starting to drink milk+ eggs
will try to get off the PPI when possible. any good sources of info on PPI I can read/listen?
by betaine HCL protocol do you mean the baking soda test?
and will def check out the bacteria.
thanks alot! -

If someone says so without explaining why, I'll put it in a trash bin.
You can eat vegetables at the beginning of the meal. Some fibbers (insoluble fibbers) are harder to digest. Potato starch could remain too long if you don't poo 2x/d.
You can drink a green soup to make it easier, but wait 20' before eating the rest of your meal. or take it as a snack. Vary the type of soup not to make mistake.
Remind: if you eat meat, you need optimal pH round 3-4 and bile. So not a high level of liquid at the end of the meal. (4 oz. liquid could be OK if ...) -
Milk can cause just as many issues when gut is permeable so maybe try cheese/butter first and see how you feel.
The beteine hcl protocol is simply taking one capsule of it with a meal. If you do not feel a warmth/burning in your stomach then you have low stimach acid. take 2 with the next meal and so on until you feel a burning sensation and then back off one pill at your next meal. Keep doing that until you find your optimal dose. Eventually you stomach acid production will come back online and you will be able to stop taking it.
No not specific stuff in terms of PPIs but if you look on reddit you will see many many accounts of PPIs being a disaster. In general if you dont have ulcers or esophageal burning, you probably dont need to reduce stomach acid.

@Zachs sure. im trying lactose free milk and it seems like it feels okay? will try cheese and butter..
any other specific foods/diet you would suggest? im trying to avoid fibre as much as possible
thanks -
@eduardo-crispino Good calls, Live Kimchi contains Lactobacillus, and can compete with H. pylori in the stomach

I think just swapping fiber for more nutrient dense animal products is the best first start. Small amounts of liver and oysters could be a good idea.
You could look into L. Reuteri yogurt, that can usually take care of SIBO on its own. S. Boullardi is another strain that can out compete bad bacteria.
