      The pattern:

Always present low grade anxiety. I can never seem to relax and enjoy life.

When a stressor comes along (relationship, money, etc) I devolve into an extreme excited state that I cannot escape: panic, anxiety, worry. My head feels like it's hot and I keep running things in my mind over and over. It's like it's stuck in a doom loop of worry, panic and trying to solve the problem. This can last weeks or months.

Finally, the doom loop goes away and I return to my normal state of low grade anxiety.

It is truly tough to enjoy much of anything in life.

      Things that help:

Benadryl but not Cyproheptadine: The chief difference between these two are that Benadryl works with glutamate, where as cypro does not.
Kava: Makes me feel pretty good. Again, works on glutamate.

Through trial and error, I have gravitated on things that help to promote GABA: theanine, GABA, taurine, aspirin.

Also, anything that promotes dopamine makes me feel better. (duh)

I'm looking for someone who has experienced anything similar and would like to collaborate.

@PunkinEater the Vibrant Wellness Neurotransmitter Urine Panel will give a more definitive answer to this question so you don’t have to speculate. With neurotransmitters in particular it can be difficult to ascertain the situation off symptoms alone.

Do you have any idea how much the test is? I'm leery of any site the hides their pricing.

@PunkinEater it must be ordered by a practitioner. Sometimes the practitioners upcharge, I think that’s why there’s no price. I ordered mine through a practitioner as part of a bundle, 3 tests for $700. Idk how much it is individually. I don’t think he upcharges the test itself but you do have to pay for his meeting/analysis. I can post who I used if you like, and if it doesn’t break forum rules. I don’t want to make it seem like I’m shilling someone’s services.

I found other providers for the test. Thanks for your help.

Do you think there's a big difference between p5p and peroxadine hydrochloride? I've had both and didn't notice a difference.

UPDATE: After remembering how good I felt within that last 6 months, I decided to give famotidine (PepcidAC) a try. Within about 1.5 hours my symptoms of worry, rumination, anxiety and fear were gone.

I don't know what the mechanism of action is, but I'm assuming it's either the blockage of the H2 receptor or the reduction of serotonin. It's good to feel human again.
