I like how he says he will "not be disrespected in his own house" ... a house that has someone else's name on it?

I followed your story and I am not supprised. There is already a blog with Grant idea of low vit A where people are posting sinces years : No one is really interrested. He could also have proposed to sell the RPF to someone and make a new one with "Low Toxic Bile theory forum" but he knows that it will never interrest people. Using Ray's name is his only chance to have some trafic because people will still come and read about Ray. There was an active desire to destroy Ray's work but it won't work. Ray interviews are decentralized now and in every computer. It takes 24 hours to open a new forum and previews forum was saved in many computers around the world. Garret Smith has 24k supposed follower and has 3 to 10 likes every post with probably 2/3 false accounts he makes testimonials with to give some credit to his theory. But at the end of the day, once you get done with 2 hours Ray interview you're like "wow.... are all datas coming from his memory ?". When you come out of 2 hours garret smith you it's full of supposition, and research articles out of there context and global learning is poor. Ray will live eternaly and its work will just keep propagating.

@Gaston No problem. Wouldnāt put it past him to read the DMs.
@max Iām glad you pushed him the way you did. He keeps trying to ignore and dodge that question of renaming the forum. (I asked the same thing myself and when he didnāt answer I said it was suspicious... that got me banned for ādisrespectā in āhis houseā hahaha)
At least now we know that asking to change the name is a bannable offense in RPF clown world.
@Harlock Spot on!

@max A house of cards though, just you wait, it's all going to come crashing down!
I hope RPF donators are cancelling their subscription/s, it all started going 'South' when that happened, the Lion sees it more as a business venture than principle/s -
@Not_James_Bond I am surprised from the start of Charlie's plan to transition to a subscriptions based model that there are people who believed in supporting charlie in subscribing to a forum already losing membership quality. Charlie knows it. The early members that provided much of the momentum and credibility to the forum have gone save for a few that still cling to the hope that the quality may yet be infused with new quality members. If there was some remaining value to the forum, it is in the quality of its trove of posts from early years. Very little quality remains from posts in the recent past. Newbies go through the wringer of bad advices from fellow members who can only give short advice often so banal you can get simply by googling, simply defeating the role a knowledgeable forum plays in countering the filtered results in Google where the intent is to lead people down rabbit holes and wild goose chases. With no third rail existing to stop bad advice from dominating the forum. No one is able and willing enough to arrest the downtrend in quality and the increase in garbage material coming in the form of thoughtlessly opinionated advice. The forum has turned into a cesspool I would no longer recommend friends to.
And all of what I just said is before Charlie began to shout as loudly to increase the destruction in the avalanche. I feel so bad this happened, as many unwitting and impressionable and credulous people are going to get trapped in the avalanche. I believe there would still be many trusting souls out there who do not know they are on a sinking ship and do not know the concept of cutting their losses, throwing good money after bad. I know one when I see one as I have a sister just like that. And it is a lost cause. The more I explain, the more she digs in. Doing the same thing that hasn't worked in the hope it will work the next time.
The subscription model of Charlie may still work for him unfortunately. There are plenty of morons who perceive value in paying for bad advice and very few sharp people who knows how to get good advice for free. There are enough morons around to contribute to charlie's grandiose plans to build his empire.
-
@yerrag hi, why do you call them morons? A good part of these people are not in optimal health, and some probably have health problems
-
@Truth Sorry if I should use that word liberally. But I still have to use that word because while it is not their fault they cannot think for themselves and have a need for a messiah to guide them, they are just like the voters in a democracy that continually get fooled into voting the wrong leaders.
What term would you use when you make an intelligent decision but accept it doesn't make a difference because you have to abide by the majority vote composed of morons?
If there are less morons, would there be less Charlies, and if there are less Charlies, would there be more hope in making the world better? Yet more and more morons exist in the US than at any time in history, not just in absolute terms, but in percentage. Let's just call a spade a spade and not soft-pedal it.
-
@yerrag If someone behaves unintelligently according to you on just one thing, does that make him a moron?
You don't think you've done anything that isn't/hasn't been "intelligent" this year? Do you see yourself as a moron?
-
@Truth Do you keep making the same mistake again and again and never learn from it? Those that don't are not morons. They are actually great people as they aren't afraid to make decisions, and own up to their mistakes and are honest about it, and learn from it. They are not morons.
-
@yerrag How do the people who pay to use the forum establish that it's a mistake according to you?
How do you know the number of people who pay to use the forum, considering that the number of members indicated in the stats includes those who had an account before the paid transition and do not need to pay to comment

That ship being the Titanic, and Charlie is in the Orchestra, along with a few others, even moderator Blossom seems to have caught the delusion.
-
@Truth A lot of those accounts will be dormant, many have simply left, confused, ill-advised, and yes betrayed by a 'Phenomena' of toxic bile vitamin A poisoning the well of knowledge.
I deeply miss member Travis on RPF and his fountain of knowledge that the likes of Charlie couldn't even imagine, his passing was such a shock to me. -
@Truth Your questions are irrelevant, really, when you can stop and reflect on it. Your high and mighty scrupulousness sees a certain cruelty and injustice at work in my calling people morons. There is a certain political correctness in you that makes you allergic to the word. It is oxymoronic also to think that a person has to be healthy and of sound mind to be able to be called a moron. That is what you imply when you say people who are sick cannot be called morons, but that is precisely what makes one a moron. Because one has to be sick and that sickness extends to the mind, making him incapable of making good decisions nor being able to learn from his mistakes.
And those who support charlie by gladly paying to subscribe may initially be driven to support him not knowing his true nature. But knowing his true nature, and acknowledging they made a mistake supporting him given he has shown his true face, and assuming they recognize Charlie does not deserve their support, they withdraw their subscription and leave - I don't consider them morons.
But those who continue to support charlie because they consciously believe charlie deserves their support, they are free to do so. But my opinion is they are still morons because they are are unable to question the wisdom and motive of Charlie's abrupt change in direction that calls into question charlie dropping his support for the pillars of Ray Peat's research and calling vitamin A a poison while Generaux and Smith are hailed on the strength of a hypothesis unproven enough to be called a theory while there are questions that remain as to whether vitamin A is really a poison or a substance that simply is in excess that makes it harmful, just like any beneficial substance would be when in excess. Also, just because the experience of having bad outcomes taking vitamin A existing does not extend to the entire human race (and perhaps only applies to a subset of it) further makes the hypothesis flimsy at best. And that if the experience of vitamin A being toxic only applies to a US population (or a heavily US-influenced western population) should beg the question of whether this population has been poisoned by modern western medicine (with its drugs and vaccines), then it is premature to even state vitamin A in and of itself is toxic. Supporting someone with a penchant for jumping the gun without much real science and careful inquiry behind him is moronic, and highly dangerous to one's health.
I'm glad you ask this question of whether I should call people morons. I give you a long answer and hopefully you can get off your high horse.
Have you ever wanted to call someone a moron and never do just because it doesn't sound correct? But deep inside you consider him a moron? Are you more concerned about your image in being highly cultured? Or are you merelycurrying the approval of your peers in doing so?
-
@mostlylurking Tucker is just controlled opposiotion. There will always be a "good" part and a "bad" part, the true ones opposing to the system we don't see them on the internet with millions of views, they will not want us to see. It's clearly a division made for us to be divided.
-
Are there even mor... people who pay for the RPF account left? I'm not asking this out of presumptuousness, but I would really be interested in this. Ist there a way to see how many "unique" users (not Charlie's burner accounts) pay for the forum? It would surprise me if it was more then ten at this point. I doubt he makes significant money, although I could be wrong.
-
@yerrag They're relevant, it's your arguments that are absolutely not, according to you if someone commits an action that you consider unintelligent, it's a moron, you added then if the person repeats it, if I find several of your comments unintelligent, I can call you a moron, it is fine according to you?
"Oxymoronic "I never said that you have to be in good health to be considered a moron, calling someone a moron implies having animosity and or disdain towards the person, whereas in this context it's a good portion of people in sub-optimal health and / or with health problems who just want to get better, you call them moron because it bothers you that according to you they contribute to "Charlie's empire", yet you have no figures on the number of people who pay for the forum
Some people don't care if it's Raymond's or "low VA" ideas that are being discussed, they just think they'll get better on the forum and/or they've seen benefits from using it, so they want to keep it up,
you don't know how many people pay to "support Charlie"rather than for their own benefits, it's a fantasy in your head
"High horse "you project your own tendencies
-
You ask why, I give you my answer. You aren't satisfied. Nothing I say will anyway. When I use a word, I pick what describes well without use of an adjective, and intentionally chose "moron." There is always one guy who will act as Miss Manners when strong words are used, and you stepped up on your high horse to criticize me for using such a strong word. When I answer you cogently, you have nothing else to say but call me a moron. Perhaps you felt insulted because I used the word oxymoronic to refer to the idea you espouse that implies only healthy people can be called morons, exposing a fault in your logic, and you then think I called you a moron, betraying your lack of comprehension, and you retort because you are hurt and now you call me a moron.
You are one funny person. Doing what you condemn my doing in the process. Are you always this way? Must be a hell of a life.
-
@yerrag You haven't answered many things:
Is it okay to call you moron if I find many of your posts unintelligent?
You don't know how many people pay to be on the forum
You don't know how many people pay with the intention of supporting Charlie rather than just because they perceive a benefit from being on the forumIf anyone is "miss manner" between the two of us, it's you, considering that you have disdain and animosity towards people who pay for the forum because according to you they are enough to contribute to "Charlie's empire" whereas this supposition is a fantasy
I didn't call you "moron" once, learn to read better.
I didn't feel insulted once, "oxymoron", I never said no imply that only healthy people are legitimate to be called "moron", I said the probable causes that make a major part of people pay the forum, being sub-optimal health, potentially health problems, and also because they perceive a benefit there, it's you who clearly manifests an error of logic ,read better
The only one who is hurt is you, that's why you feel disdain and animosity towards people who pay for the forum, even if a good part of them likely just want to improve their health, and you yourself have actions and words that lack intelligence
