You need sugar with protein (insulin response). Not much but there is only lactose in milk. must be first assimilated: When lactose is broken down, it yields one molecule of galactose and one molecule of glucose.
A blood glucose peak around 60 minutes after ingestion, returning to near baseline within 2 hours.
a fruit could be enough when bringing +/ 20 g carbs.

Explanation
Whey protein triggers an insulin response because of its insulinogenic amino acids like leucine, which stimulates insulin secretion, and its ability to boost incretin hormones like GIP and GLP-1.
Key reason for the insulin spike
Nutrient transport: Insulin's role isn't just about glucose; it also facilitates the transport of amino acids into muscle cells.
Insulin acts as a key to unlock cells, allowing amino acids to enter and be used for muscle building and repair. -

The estimated glycemic load (GL) of a meal containing 20g of whey protein, 240ml of half-skimmed milk, and 45g of buckwheat cereal is approximately 17 (medium GL classification).
Between 10 - 20, the load is considered medium.
Try first with some fibbers, mixed with coco oil. Coco must be above 30° C to get soft, easy to mix. No rice / almond "milk". Well hazelnut of cow milk.
No cornflake, rather usual oat (no bran).
NB: cereal or pseudo-cereal shouldn't be considered as a healthy meal. OK if you like it, 2x/wk. Listen to your feeling and adapt.
When I eat oat ones (simply crunchy cereal, from Jordan, with honey), in hazelnut milk, I add some cut fruits. half an apple, or blueberries, e.g.
