How to get Vit C from potatoes milk and meat
There are 2 kinds of Vit C in the body: L-acid ascorbic & dehydroascorbate (DHA)
This current diet (steak + potatoes + raw milk) easily provides 15–20 mg of DHA. While this is far below my 250 mg goal, it is double the amount needed to prevent scurvy. I’m not at risk of deficiency, but I won’t reach the "antioxidant saturation" level of 250 mg I target.
I need minimum 170 mg/day to maintain a total body pool of 1,500 mg (The maximum "full tank").Details on these foodstuff on this link:

Excerpt:- Meat / seafood, eggs and milk bring some dehydroascorbate, which is an excellent source of dehydroascorbate (DHA). It plays the same role as L-acid ascorbic in the tissues.
- Prior to absorption, dietary ascorbic acid is first oxidized to DHA, which is then absorbed by passive diffusion or by way of glucose transporters.
- “Once it gets into the cells, about 80% of vitamin C is in the form of dehydroascorbate.” RP
- Ascorbic acid and DHA are sensitive to heat. Thermolability of Vit C is 55-65° C.
- The limiting factor is dose saturation, not transit speed, at low amounts (200 mg).
- A medium raw potato contain ~30 mg Vit C in total. 12-15 mg Vit C remains in one boiled peeled potato (12’), cut in 4 pieces. 1/3 is DHA.
- Flash-pasteurized full-fat milk has likely lost 30–50% of Vit C, specifically the DHA fraction being most likely adulterated / corrupted. Raw milk is fine (0.5–0.8 mg DHA per 250ml)
- In raw beef, Vitamin C is present in small amounts (approx. 1.5–2.5 mg per 100g); 80–90% of it is in the form of DHA. 1/4 cooked (Rare/Bloody) leaves 95% of the original DHA. Half-Cooked (Medium-Rare) retain 70–80% of the DHA.
- The Histamine Risk: For histaminose acerola is a "red flag" (biogenic amines).

@LucH um... have you considered an orange?

I suppose you're asking for "histamine problems". If you want to know if there is some DHA in orange juice or in the fruit, it's not pertinent. Mostly AA in the fruit.
DHA is present in fresh and processed orange juice, where the enzyme ascorbate oxidase can catalyze its formation, especially at temperatures above 30°C.
Stability: The total ascorbic acid (AA) content (ascorbic acid + DHA) decreases over time and with exposure to air/oxygen.
Histamine
Orange is H3, like most citrus fruits. Clementine is H2. I do not eat H3 nor L3 at breakfast (histamine).
No orange when in crisis. Now under control. Ok for one orange a day, but still with 1 000 0000 unit DAO enzyme every other day. Naturdao. No need to take the one with useful nutrients (Mg & B6) as I already follow them with cronometer.comNB1: When leaving fresh orange juice for 2-3 days in a fridge with some "peel / pulp", there is a fermentation, and we got new process.
So drop after 12-24Hrs from AA => DHA (oxygen) with some loss.
NB2: If there is some pulp in the orange juice "bottle", there is a fermentation. New vit C appears.
I'm writing a new doc on it. I come back and give a short summary to explain how we could proceed to get new DHA, provided we don't abuse (time-limited). -

All that commun claim that oranges/citrus fruits inherently increase histamine therefore it can be bad or is bad isnt true, most oranges simply arnt optimally ripe so it wont make people feel optimal, if a person eat enough optimally ripe oranges, it would increase relaxation significantly, more than most foods
