Thyroid, cholesterol, muscle growth
A thought -
Considering thyroid's essential function in the conversion of cholesterol into downstream steroids, I suppose a high dietary intake of cholesterol, particularly through consumption of brain - the organ meat with the highest concentration of cholesterol - and supplementation of t3, may produce notably higher levels of the steroid hormones. When this regimen is paired with stimulating resistance exercise - muscular growth may be expedited.
Hormones such as testosterone and DHT are observed to have dramatic increases in a hyperthyroid state. Furthermore, the clearance rate of these hormones is decreased, meaning their plasma levels remain high and their effects become more pronounced.
Providing the body with a highly concentrated source of dietary cholesterol through consumption of brain and further providing adequate thyroid hormone to assist in it's conversion into hormones may be an effective approach for those looking to promote an increase in muscle mass while avoiding use of exogenous steroid hormones.
