¡Ciao! It's-a me, Giacomo Pepperoni. I'm Italy's Foreign Minister of Cultural Affairs. I wanted to hop on this thread to confirm that Brad Cohn really is Italian. I checked our genealogy records and I was able to trace his ancestry back 1000 years to a small village outside Caserta. I also wanted to say, as a cultural emissary of Italy, that he's a true friend of the Italian people. I've known Brad Cohn for many years (he actually married my third cousin) and he's very proud of his Italian heritage.
As for whether he's Jewish, that's not my place to say. Some people think that Jews and Italians are actually the same ethnicity -- and not just because we're both a clannish, hyperbolic people with a flair for the dramatic who love our mothers. In fact, we share quite a bit of genetic similarity.
Jews have also inhabited Italy for nearly two thousand years, since the Roman times. The similarities continue culturally: have you ever looked into how many Jewish writers were on the Sopranos?
Anyway, I'm not much of a fan of Ray Peat (He says pasta is no good? Shame on him!), so this will probably be my only post here. ¡Hasta la pasta!
