@djoats Its not a good long term solution, but in a pinch NSAIDs enhance the effects of anti-diuretic hormone, helping to retain water. Theyre commonly used for bedwetters and diabetes insipidus

Strange Reaction to Grapefruit & Pomegranate
TLDR: I go into some sort of hypothermic panic, perhaps hypovolemic shock when eating pomegranate or grapefruit
Hello, Ive been trying to fix my longstanding hyperactive adrenals. Symptoms and tests:
- Pregnenolone: high (460, normal 23-237)
- DHEA: high
- cortisol: normal (both instant & 24hr) but on higher end of range
- DHT: high (excessive body hair)
- aldosterone: low
- testosterone: on lower end (450)
- estrogen: normal
- anion gap: low
- bicarbonate: high
- excessive thirst & urination that gets worse at night. I can't quench my thirst no matter how much I drink, and I just piss it right out.
- HBP 135/85 since I was 6
- easily gain muscle mass but also easily gain fat
- very shallow sleep
- early puberty at 6
- feel fatigued and generally unwell 24/7
- bloodwork usually looks like im severely dehydrated, I.E. high RBC, high WBC, high albumin
I started noticing symptoms at 12-13 and its gone downhill since then.
When Im under extreme stress, I feel amazing and most of my symptoms go away, I also lose weight. However this is not a good long term solution. Caffiene and creatine also slightly help. Ibuprofen helps alot, I am able to retain water and sleep with it.
I did an experiment with 12oz of grapefruit juice every morning:
1st day: I felt pretty good actually
2nd day: woke up with a faint heartbeat
3rd day: Woke up feeling weird with very faint heartbeat. My BP was low at 110/70 (normal 135/85). I soon began to have the worst panic attack of my life, almost like shock, and was shivering my ass off, checked my temp was 95f. I was excessively urinating about every 15 minutes, and felt worse when I drank water. My stomach severely bloated as well. This episode subsided after 2 hours, I felt ok and my temp went back up to 98f.During nighttime I felt awful and had similar symptoms. I ended up having to wait for the sun to break to fall asleep, that or sleep with my lights on to trick my circadian rhythm. These symptoms waned over a period of 2 weeks.
I have very similar symptoms when I eat pomegranate, but its alot less bad.
Anyone know the overlapping hormonal effects of pomegranate and grapefruit that could cause this? I think its pivotal to my health issue, thanks. My current theory is either a hormone "blockage" or screwed up cortisol metabolism, as stress seems to brute force through it.
p.s. I do not take any meds at all, so a drug reaction couldnt have caused this. I also have tried anxiety meds in the past. The first time I take them Ill feel really good, but after a week of taking them I feel like i just drank 10 bangs and have severe insomnia, so I dont think this is psychological.
