Raw vs pasteurized milk?
-
I like both but Ray's said that there's not much difference. There are lots of people saying that pasteurization destroys a lot of the nutritional value of milk up to 70% of some vitamins. Although Ray claims the short pasteurization process only reduces them like 3-4% and that nothing is oxidized.
I mainly drink pasteurized just because at half a gallon a day full raw milk is too fattening and some people keep telling me I'll get sick from it raw. Curious if anyone's noticed any big difference.

Well there is no doubt that heat would destroy some of the valuable things in raw milk but much of the well rounded nutrition is still there. A case of good vs better.
It's been a long time since i've had raw but did drink it semi-regularly with no ill effects. I take to most milk very well btw, but sometimes i wonder if that calmness is the opiate effect.
A slightly newer topic is homogenization btw, the changes that take place afterward and what it may mean for absorption/digestion. I don't have my links handy atm but a quick search at the other forum would bring up details and links from some of the most knowledgeable members.

Night and day.
Pasteurized milk makes me apathic and tired, raw milk makes me full of energy with full muscles.

@Santosh I'm not sure. In my country pasteurised supermarket milk is really high quality and very cheap. I think it all depends on the quality of pasteurised milk. I'm also not convinced raw milk is more digestible, you've either got the genes or you don't.

@Santosh Hm I've never noticed this, although I do get allergic symptom if I drink a lot of generic brand milk. But I haven't noticed much different between local raw vs pasteurized. I wonder if skimming the raw milk would make much difference.
