Cruciferous vegetables

How does Ray Peat feel about kale, broccoli, brussell sprouts, bok choy, etc.
-
Ray has the taste buds of a six year old. He probably thinks they’re icky
-
@LinDaiyu this made me lol
-
@Goonster I love brussel sprouts but they very definitely impact my digestion in a negative way.
-
@Goonster you should be able to get away with them if they are very well cooked. Maybe with some saturated fat like butter. But of course, if they cause stomach discomfort / indigestion in any way, steer clear.
-
@Goonster Most of them have been found to contain high levels of PFAS, even when organically grown.
I like adding them to broth and making consomme, that way you get the benefits of the minerals and a bit of extra flavor to the broth without the oxalates.
-
@donovan Yeah probably, I like to steam and fry them in butter. There are worse vices.
-
@Goonster Ray said that the source of calcium in milk is the grass and that green vegetables hold allot of calcium and magnesium
Ray however did not advise you to eat grass or raw vegetables, they need to go through a form of digestion to have their nutrition become available : cow digestive system = milk
Or cooking ( which is a form of digestion)Ray also boiled green veggies and used the water as a magnesium and calcium supplement.
