Are Polls a Good Idea?

-
@brad No. I think polls substitutes thinking with emotions. Socrates said that opinions were the lowest form of knowledge. This site should strive to be free and anti-authoritarian.
-
@Norwegian-Mugabe good for asking about empirical experiences tho

@brad i think polls are better in place of likes. Adding likes/dislikes on here would make it reddit-y, polls are an appropriate form of this if you need a similar measure. This would put it on the user’s discretion to incorporate this function if needed instead of it being a foundation and inherently forced in the model with every interaction.

Agreed. And participation in polling is optional. Whether to view, assimilate or vote.

Is it actually possible to substitute in either direction. Maybe just a temporary lack of control and engagement in some. Many ways a person can delude themselves. Misappropriate their condition and capability.
I don't know. So this isn't an objection. I'll be creating some posts on the subject at some point.
