What makes one unable to get brainwashed?
-
I've been reading some CIA horrific experiments attesting that after the experiments, there were always some people unable to get brainwashed. I imagine that those people, in a case of flight or fight, they tend to only fight, completely abolishing the possibility of choosing the other option.
I've met even adults that got seriously traumatized, with cuts on their arms, being hospitalized plenty of times and taking dozens of benzos with alcohol, that now, they're not mentally healthy, some of them have severe borderline disorder, but they still got the power of thinking for themselves and not being brainwashed by the media.
One of them told me that he developed well till the age of 7, and then the abuse started. I could see that he had high thyroid since he had thin skin with visible veins on his arms, his social skills were above average and his head was way bigger for his size.I suppose being high thyroid part of your life, puts you in a position were dying gets way harder.

If you quietly examine the nature of your own compliance in school and other settings expectant of it you should be able to answer your own question. At times maybe it was somewhat unconscious and automatic, others it was performative. Beside the non and malicious. Around many self contextual factors.

Better hobbies are available.

@Androsclerozat you say it yourself, they have a working well metabolism
-
Your resting metabolic rate is part of your context. But it's also responsive to more than your own behaviour towards yourself. For example the old phrase "slap some sense in to you" has its connotation for a reason. And then there's *"comfort is a slow death".
-
@ThinPicking many idiotic things are said as common phrases . and my definition of comfort is good not bad.
-
You'll ignore whatever you want while you're sitting down sneedy.
-
@ThinPicking you’ll pee pee when the poo poo
-
That's the spirit.

Yes but I think it's more than that

What if we don't have free will in the response. What if it's all guided by our metabolism. What if there's more to it, like specific genes that are impossible to break that makes one immune to brainwashing?
-
@Androsclerozat what brainwashing are we talking about?
because if its about the plandemic then all that says about some people is they are too busy with their own achievements to pay attention and therefore dont have any major reason to distrust news and messaging
on the other hand someone neurotic can analyze and find the inconsistencies and then question the narrative
but what about someone living a normal life and not paying much attention and paying their bills and enjoying life with their family? if you ask them who did 9/11 and they say osama bin laden then so what? is this a value judgement on their personality in a negative way or does it just say they have better things to think about?

@Androsclerozat what if you do a pee pee on the poo poo ?

I think we always do. Even if you're a hypothyroid vegetable and/or deeply distracted, challenges present and choices are made.
Many people may exercise their will passively in wanting. Wanting to live in a dream of sorts, a dream, in a tunnel. That is so say almost totally ignorant of anything external to the construct they made or were given. Even if it's obvious to us it's oppositional to something patently material.

It is but it's malleable and you will on it. That's why I referred you to school. What is discipline anyway, in a soft or stark form.
As an adult, a person's still exercising their will in not wanting to reach a higher rate without a shock/stress. Being there can be anxiogenic for a time, seeing beyond what things looked like "down there" from "up here". Like Georgi's comment in a podcast somewhere about noticing injustice and annoyance (something like that). Or maybe just realising what an idiot you were "down there". Suppose someone got the challenge or shock/stress from believing the television, taking an ACE inhibitor delivered in an experimental gene therapy and having their life go sideways.

I don't buy it but knock yourself out. The genome might indicate for an aspect of physiology you can't alter in a lifetime. But it's only going to hinder or help you, not stop you. And everything's a trade off.
I wish I could be as smartbrained as sneedy for example. But I just have to work harder to get there.
-
@Androsclerozat if you're having trouble convincing people of things you may just need to go a bit deeper in trying to understand where they're coming from. Before you try again differently or let it be.
And if you want to go back to "sleep". You can. Just remove your attention, stop moving and be patient.
-
@ThinPicking convincing people of things even if they are legit is sometimes not a great idea.
-
Yes thank you sneedy. Where would the world be without your valuable wisdom. Even if you Love them, it's probably better to leave someone believing they have super long tripple covid due to a biotech guy dropping a pippett from a fume cupboard in fluhan.

@ThinPicking im assuming you have people in your life who have decent emotional intelligence. for you to talk to me from that position like i dont know what im talking about is fucking funny to me. there’s an honest pragmatism that comes in not rocking the boat, that youd know is legit if youd have seen the shit ive seen.

Of course it is. That's the point in humour.
-
@ThinPicking sorry about that. I was hungry.

Ray Peat right again.
