    Any good alternatives to famotidine/treating a duodenal ulcer?

      I've been dealing with slight GI bleeding for a while now and while it's not a serious injury, it has stopped me from consuming things like coffee, alcohol, chocolate, etc. And it's yet to go away on it's own after months despite what seems to be a lack of symptoms for prolonged periods of time

      Thus far I've seen Haidut recommend Famotidine as the safest option to conventional proton pump inhibitors, as even first generation H2 (stomach acid production) blockers like Ranitidine or Cimetidine have very undesirable side effects like increasing Prolactin, and God knows I can do without that

      However, all OTC Famotidine options I've found are chockful of zog bullshit like Red 40, Aluminium food colorings, "titanium dioxide" and I can't catch a break

        @goniath You may wish to trial Standard process labs Okra Pepsin at 2 per meal with plenty of water, as well as investigating the H. Pylori angle. H pylori often comes back after treatment and I believe this is due to its presence in the teeth/gums. So Chewing mastic gum may be advised.

          bpc-157 taken orally should heal ulcers quickly and then you might be able to take the anti h. pylori stuff

            @goniath, not exactly the same condition but I had chronic gastritis due to SIBO that went untreated for years and what I found helpful was goat’s milk and sipping a tea made from slippery elm bark and marshmallow root (what marshmallows were originally made from) before meals. All three are old remedies for ulcers. If your ulcer is due to H. pylori, goldenseal, a traditional herbal antibiotic, may help but you’ll want to cycle it because of its antimicrobial properties.
