I have dealt with increased incidences of bruising since I could remember, particularly with the rise of hypothyroid symptoms. Recently, I have given blood/ taken blood tests and developed large bruises on the spot where blood was drawn. What is the cause for this?

@periander345 Estrogen can cause increased bruising. Men can have problems with high estrogen too. Vitamin K deficiency could cause it too. Do you take aspirin? K is important to supplement if you take aspirin.

@mostlylurking I have been taking 650mg of aspirin a day for about a month, along with a 15mg dose of K2 liquid orally. I have actually felt much better since starting but have felt like I'm having digestive problems after drinking a lot of coffee or taking magnesium. Taking 8,000 IU of D3 as well daily.

@periander345 I had to give up coffee (and also black tea) because of my thiamine deficiency. Coffee (and tea) blocks thiamine function. Sensitivity to magnesium can be resolved via thiamine supplementation.

              Hypothyroidism.

I used to bruise terribly on aspirin before taking thyroid.

@mostlylurking I've been doing some research on thiamine deficiency and I think this is what is causing many issues. I always get a brain fog, and irritable stomach problems when I drink a lot of coffee and will start mega dosing B1. Thanks a lot.

@periander345 You're welcome. I found Elliot Overton's articles to be very helpful. Also Dr. Lonsdale's articles (and book). Also Dr. Costantini's website.
