Hey y'all, Im a naturopathic doctor and I help a lot of people who are prescribed synthroid but are still blatantly hypothyroid (for obvious reasons). I recommend tyromix or have them order cynomel from Mexican pharmacies, or I recommend thyro-gold or other glandulars.

I work with a few people that do not have a thyroid and its difficult to manage their dosage properly, especially since I don't have prescribing rights.

Sometimes idealabs is out of stock, and you can't trust the T3/T4 dosage in glandulars because its not standardized.

So all that being said, I would love to have an holistic, Ray Peat-oriented, pro-metabolic endocrinologist that I can refer people to who can prescribe the right meds for them.

I live in Illinois, but hoping I can find someone that can work virtually who I can refer people to from all over the place.

      Anyone know a guy?

He does prescribe desiccated thyroid. He knows that T3 is needed. That's really all I can tell you. When I went to his clinic, I always saw the PA, not him. They did not try to optimize my dose of desiccated thyroid and I was inadequately treated for over a decade. But it has been almost 10 years ago that I changed doctors and this new thyroid focused business might be the result of him getting better informed for all I know. You could contact him and try to get an understanding of where he is now in his knowledge base.

I was not happy with the hormone therapy that their clinic offered. I never could get a bio-identical progesterone only product from them even though they sort of tried because their supplier for their hormone cream used an estrogenic soy base.

I like my current endocrinologist better but he is retiring in less than 2 years and is on the far side of 80. He wouldn't be interested in increasing the volume of his business.

@flexthorton Another option would be for you to consider physicians that are listed with Orthomolecular.org that treat endocrine issues. See here: http://orthomolecular.org/resources/pract.shtml
