Why does allopregnanolone harm mood at higher dose?

I experimented with allopregnanolone about a year ago and noticed it had a concave dose response curve for mood. This tracks with the research I have read on it and others reported experiences but I am wondering why this is the case.

@yeehawyinzer Maybe because of excess conversion to androsterone?

Potentially, although I've supplemented the same amount and more of androsterone and not had this effect, or certainly not to that extent!
For the record, I'm a guy--- the ladies would likely get different results from androsterone conversion.

@yeehawyinzer I wonder then if there is some other conversion going on, we dont know about, wrecking havock.
