How to lower excess serotonin from skiing.
-
Recently I went skiing for a week. 5-6 hours a day (with breaks), of rather strenuous exercise. Every night I had trouble sleeping and I had loose stools. I believe it was the excess of serotonin.
Anyway to lower it? Cyproheptadine didn't work... -
@Osteo How can you be so sure it wasn't simply the result of a large energy deficit from the high activity compared to your baseline? Did you try consuming more food and sugar? That is where I would start.

@Osteo gelatin rich stews. Warm baked fruit desserts. Coffee

@Evolutionarily Yes. I did it much more than usual.

I recommend using activated charcoal, starting with a low dose and increasing to 1 gram before bed for up to 5 days.
AC helps lower serotonin levels in the gut, but it also lowers minerals and vitamins. Therefore, do not take it for a long time.
