Co2 baths during pregnancy

Hello folks,

my pregnant wife complains about aches and pains in the lower back and hip area during late stages of pregnancy.
I was wondering whether Co2 baths are helpful and also safe during pregnancy? Are there any side effects?

What is the best way to create these sort of baths? I am thinking about mixing Aluminium Sulfate and Sodium Bicarbonate to create the Co2.
