Quitting Cyproheptadine causes severe Diahhrea?

Hello all, looking for some advice with this.
Started taking Cypro (from local pharmacy) a few months ago. (1-2 mg before bed) A short while after starting it, every time I forgot to take it 2 days later I would get severe diarrhea and gas. (The worst diarrhea I've ever had. Shitting water with chunks of feces basically) I believe this could be caused by serotonin drawing water into the intestines? As Cypro is a serotonin antagonist, after quitting the level of serotonin rises. Any advice on this? I would preferably quit Cypro as I forget to take it often enough that this has become a problem. Thanks.
