Bad breath that smells like ammonia
-
For the last year I’ve been experiencing insane bad breath daily that smells strongly of ammonia. I believe it is unrelated to oral hygiene and I would appreciate any advice as to what could be causing this. It is starting to become a big problem in my life. I drink once a month if at all and have a mostly clean diet.

No clue but Dr. Peat says potatoes cause use up excess ammonia. Eat a potato!

@jdog420 Likely related to kidney issues. May need to reduce sodium intake for a bit.

@jdog420 There is an issue with your kidney or liver not properly removing the urea (byproduct of digesting protein) that's leading to Urea turning back into ammonia & giving you bad breath. Perhaps lower protein intake for a couple weeks.
In case that doesn't work, you might have a issue with your kidneys that needs fixing, & if thats true, it might be affecting vit D use.

@jdog420 Excess proteins, especially the imflammitory ones like tryptophan can be hard on the kidneys
