Does Cypro and Mirtazapine cause leptin resistance?
-
Leptin increases according to studies, but also the appetite and weight gain. "Leptin resistance may be mediated by an antihistaminergic effect on hypothalamic nuclei integrating signals relevant for energy balance." it says here:https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23277262/
I am very afraid of weight gain. Have anyone looked into this and found out it is nothing to fear or should I avoid it? (I would like a medication to reduce migraine and help me sleep deeper.) -
@Davida Then I find this by the man: I doubt that there is any biological significance in the idea of leptin resistance. Leptin promotes inflammation and cancer, so it might be good to be resistant to it, but I think the concept is mainly an outgrowth of the pharmaceutical industry's promotion of leptin as a cure for obesity.
