Neutropenia...
-
My father has just undergone chemotherapy a few weeks back and now is in hospital with neutropenia and an infection of the kidneys. Does anyone know of something I could give to help him recover neutrophils? Thanks

@BeamsOfEnergy anyone?

No doubt the best place for him BOE. Under observation. Where they could do IV fluids, vasopressin, light antibiotics and probably other things. I'm not familiar really.
I just wanted to say don't underestimate the power of you being with him. Even in thought. Hold his hand, both sides of it, pray.

Check his medications for neutropenia or agranulocytosis as a listed (rare) side effect and if so have those drugs removed or replaced.
There are some studies on e.g. diabetes where vitamin E prevented or replenished a drop in neutrophilic granulocytes, without changing their functioning.
And other studies on vitamin C improving neutrophil functioning.
Glutathion reductase (B2+B3 dependent) has been found relevant for mobilization and functioning of neutrophils.
Histamine has been found to inhibit neutrophil functioning (phagocytosis and neutrophil extracellular traps) through histamin-2 receptor activation. -
@ThinPicking thank you for your kind words.
