I'm a healthy weight (maybe slightly underweight) 25M, and seem to be dealing with estrogen dominance(PCOS like symptoms).

I got some progest E a couple months ago but the two times I tested it I seemed to have gotten some estrogen effects from it and was wondering how I should take it to help with estrogen dominance or any other tips.

      Thanks!

@nicemushroom17 it’s got to be something else that’s causing it, or you’re misreading your symptoms. Progesterone opposes estrogen and progest-e is the top brand I’d say so it’s not an issue of unwanted excipients in the product. Did you get it directly fro kenogen or some where else?

Look up the work of Katharina Dalton

          Peat liked and referenced her

Spoiler: you need to possibly up your carb intake

The old RPF now the Low Toxin Forum had several good threads on this subject as well

@nicemushroom17 Its basic theory in the Peat sphere that progesterone can at first push out estrogen and worsen estrogen symptoms.

I dont know if this is true. Maybe for some people.

Others will say it has feminizing effects and thats it.

I am still undecided what is actually happening but I have similar results when I take it as a man. Also progest-e.

@Sigma for me it was very calming but had feminising effects. Androsterone caused extreme estrogen detox with very large boils.

Hi fyi according to the below exchange from a ray peat emails thread, it would be unlikely that p4 would give rise to estrogen:

What's a good dose of progesterone? Could it turn into estrogen?

                Ray Peat said:
Progesterone won't turn into estrogen, but along with thyroid and aspirin it will tend to reduce the amount of estrogen in the body. If you have symptoms, you could adjust the dose according to the effect; I have seen some people start recovering immediately with just 10 mg of progesterone, but it depends on the balance of other hormones.
