Sudden histamine intolerance
-
Visited my in-laws last week and immediately got a histamine flush from OJ. Then I got insomnia from swollen nasal passages, which created adrenaline rushes from the constant false start sleep. Now my right side is pretty much constantly feeling irritated.
Thought it would stop when we left but it hasn’t. Went in last night because I thought my throat was closing up. Any ideas?
(Related or not I don’t know, but I’ve also started turning orange from the carrot salad after years of no problems with BC.)

@schemingfonzie Peat has said thyroid lowers histamine. Carotene build-up inhibits thyroid. Maybe try 100 mcg T3 once a week.

@schemingfonzie btw, CO2 should clear your swollen nasal passages. Don't inhale the gas, that could suffocate you. What you can do is exhale all your breath and pause breathing for idk ten to thirty seconds. CO2 will build-up in body. Repeat this a few times. Haidut mentioned this method on RPF I think.

You wrote you were visiting your in-laws. Is it possible you had a different brand of orange juice than usual and had an allergic reaction to something in that brand?
Did you have anything else high in histamine since then (aged cheese, dark chocolate, fermented foods, red wine, ...) and experienced the same flush of the skin?
If you still have problems breathing, baking soda could also help. One teaspoon of baking soda in some water.
