looking for tips for low stomach acid/overgrowth/weak digestion/suspected sibo
-
so i was on a low fat/protein, high fibre and starch diet, and then went on PPIs for 3 months (have stopped for 2 months now) and it seems like i messed up my stomach acid production,
- and messed up my bile function
- and digestion in intestines (overgrowth, yellow tongue coating, probably SIBO but not tested)
- now i am on path to recovery and am looking for extra tips
now:
- eating eggs, fatty fish, liver, potatoes, spinach, avoiding fodmaps.
- taking betaine hcl
- antimicrobials (mastic gum, neem, oregano oil, gse, berberine, d limonene)
- celery juice
- taking B1
- magnesium for digestion and stool
- zinc for stomach acid production
- just started probiotics: started s boulardii, will try reuti after
- take beef gelatin with coffee between meals
- fasting 4+ hours between meals for MMC
any other advice?? methods that have worked for you?
- my stool is still sludgy and smelly (although improved from heavily fluctuating diahrhea and constipation)
- tongue still has thick yellow coating
- fat/protein digestion still weak - improved but bloating easy
anyone tried enzymes that have worked or bitters?
other strategies?thanks a lot!!!!

Hi,
First we have to be sure that the yellow tongue is not the sign of candidiasis. otherwise, you can't get out of the hole. And if you try, without a specific tactic, you'll reinforce the beast.
Probably no candidiasis: usually white tongue and difficulty to remain 4 hours without eating carbs.
To be sure, try the following behavior to see how your brain react (connection between the brain and the stomach through the vagus nerve):
Don't eat after 8 P.M. and for breakfast next day the carbs are to be minimal; not zero to avoid insulin reaction:
An medium apple or best a tomato with 50-60 g veggie (2 oz.), olive fruit or macadamia nuts (one tbsp), 50 or 100 g ham. cider vinegar as liquid.
250 ml drink (water or coffee). No milk (lactose).
Target 20 g sugar (80 K/cal).
If you have problem with digestion, I'll take enzymedica lipogold.
Veggie: corn salad or common salad.
Wait till midday for the next meal, with carbs. 2/3 carbs, 1/3 protein (2 eggs). -
To tackle low stomach acid I would try incorporating in my diet:
Coffee with cream and sugar for the caffeine and chlorogenic acid
Red Bull for the caffeine and taurine
Seafood for the taurine and zinc
Low fat pork (ham for example) for the glycineWell cooked mushrooms daily (mushroom soup for example) would have an anti bacterial effect. So would low dose penicillin.
I would drop the supplements. For example, supplemental zinc can destroy other nutrients,
the betaine could facilitate development of cancer.https://lowtoxinforum.com/search/2647008/?t=post&c[thread]=3656&c[users]=Haidut&o=relevance
