Body temperature

My body temp is around 97 when waking up and can go up to 98.5 during the day. How do I increase my waking temp?
Currently taking magnesium and vitamin e with a chocolate milk before bed( 20g gelatin, 25g sugar 15g cacao and 350ml skimmed milk).
Overall sleep is great, I track it with oura and regularly get above 85 in sleep score.
-
@voldtzeig what does oura say your resting pulse and average pulse at night are?
-
@OxidisedOolong Lowest heart rate during night is averaged at 55, average heart rate during sleep is 63. Daytime is between 55-70 averaged.
-
@voldtzeig Ok cool, and how many calories do you eat per day, and what is your bodyweight?
-
@OxidisedOolong Think I eat about 2500-3500 a day. Usually think I end up at 3000kcal. I'm 211lbs and 6.07feet. (I'm european so not sure if .07 is a thing) About 18-20%bf

@voldtzeig Ok cool; if somedays you're hitting 2500 or even 3000, I think that's too low for someone of your height and weight. E.g. in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUtxeioima8 70 kg males weighing 150 lbs would regularly eat 3000 kcal. Without an abundance of fuel, the body simply won't increase energy consumption (indicated by pulse and temperature). It could also be other things like needing some more vit B1, or thyroid, or steroids like pregnenolone and testosterone, or needing to correct an inverted cortisol pattern. What is your pulse like?
-
@OxidisedOolong interesting, will try to increase calories and see what happens. Pulse usually around 70-90 during day, 60-75 when waking.
-
@voldtzeig Ok cool that's not too bad; how are you measuring temperature btw?
-
@OxidisedOolong I'm using a braun thermoscan a couple of times a day, usually before and after meals. Before I got the hang of it I would get different temps but now I can scan several times in each ear and get same temp every time.

@voldtzeig Ok cool. For eardrum, I think the target should be even higher than 98.6. E.g. Peat said: "Old people in particular can have brain at a “good temperature, oral 98.6 (37C), eardrum 99.5, for example” … but they’re producing less energy and that shows up as an extreme gradient from the extremities to the brain" from https://bioenergetic.life/clips/74ded?t=5569&c=107.
So lots of room to improve!
