Why is the Ray Peat community so far right?
-
i am a squirrel and evverything is NUTS
-
@herayclitus Yes, the current progressive people are self-destructive, as can be seen in their love of veganism, their apokalyptic outlook, their willingness to destroy their societies out of unrealistic ideas.
-
-
The politcal right is more focused on health and eugenics.
-
If you have a healthy body(for example high testosterone levels), then you will be more right-wing. Look at Bearnie supporters, they are a physical pile of shit. All my friends are right-wing, and they look like Dolph Lundgren. The left are fat lesbian coonsomers and immigrants goyslop lickers.

Yes, and therefore we have a homeostatic reaction in our social ecosystem. For example, many traditional progressives are joining the right... Moreover, many young people also are joining the right side.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of populism, therefore many people with an honest willingness to help (make things better) are getting scammed (on both sides)...
-
@Kvirion This pendulum is probably natural and good. Many of the young people who react to a totalitarian left state with turning to right-wing ideas would have been left-wing in the 1960ies as a reaction to a totalitarian right wing state.

Yes, we are in full agreement. Best regards.

What you call "far right" is simply the common sense and standards that normal society had decades ago.

But have you noticed that decades ago we had about 5 billion fewer people, no smartphones/internet, no PUFA, very little plastic, etc?
We are path and context-dependent...
-
Also: what we call today the far-right identifies often with ideologies which were in their time seen as very progressive, transformative, not all conservative.
E.g. the Nazis in Germany were in large part young men who wanted to upend society and set new standards.
As a protest movement they incorporated very different lines of thinking, but many Nazis identified as left. They had many ideas in common with today's left in Germany, especially the Greens.

@AryanRaypEat I think the Twitter side of Peating in particular leans right because many of them heard of it from BAP or Landshark. Another factor is that a lot of the left supports veganism which is not really in line with Peat (ovo-lacto-vegetarianism can be pretty Peaty but that's not satisfactory to the animal rights types). Peat was critical of big pharma and while the left used to be, they have become more and more in line with mainstream medicine in terms of things like Covid, and vaccines in general.

Western societies have never been as left leaning as they are today. Western societies have never been as dysgenic and unhealthy as today. It is just normal that healthy people and people who strive for health are firmly on the right.
-
@Norwegian-Mugabe Western societies are only industrial societies for a bit more than 100 years. Except for the UK, real industrialization started with World war 1.
Since then Western societies have been firmly on the left, looking for the state as the provider. Even the so called right wing states (e.g. Germany and Italy of the 1930ies) where left-wing, with maybe some ideological ideas that pretended otherwise.
As we are now in the fifth generation or so of people relying physically and mentally on a big state, the possibility for a real right wing change seems very remote. -
Everyone in this thread is retarded. I suggest checking out this guy Ray Peat, whose work is founded on materalist principles. you guys are adventurists
-
@Andreas I do not agree. You can have a left-leaning libertarian society and a right-wing socialist society. Nazi germany was fiscally left-wing, but spiritually right-wing. Almost everyone rightly considers facisim to be right-wing.
-
@CO3 Who's Ray Peat? Never heard of that guy.
-
@Andreas the left worships doctors, hospitals, masks, vaccines, and they resent nonfearful rats. they live in a fantasy world and can't think or perceive properly.
-
@Norwegian-Mugabe The problem in that discussion is that the terminology right or left is unclear, and we probably have very different ideas what it means, and we talk past each other.
For me "right" tends to be conservative, family as societal focus , not a big state, economical freedom (capitalism)
The Nazis were the polar opposite to that, as were the Soviets.§Left" is progressive in the sense of destroying the old and ushering in the new, individual or family ar subordinated to the state, the big state, state directed economy (socialism).
This describes the Nazis and the Soviets. The rest is just nuance and aesthetics. The Nazis had snazzy uniforms and did everything with typical German bureaucracy (just as now).
-
@boats This is the modern left. The definition of left now has totally changed, and cannot really be compared to the left of the 1930s.
Today's left are mainly NPCs, who would gladly run with the Nazis or the Communists, whoever is in power. -
@CO3 either that or spooks, it's too insane what they're saying... I guess it's the so called screen damage and meme-mind. Yeah read Ray Peat and talk to anyone irl, you will be cured. If you're spooks let me say "you won't be sparred by the rulers you're helping".
