@Truth A lot of those accounts will be dormant, many have simply left, confused, ill-advised, and yes betrayed by a 'Phenomena' of toxic bile vitamin A poisoning the well of knowledge.
I deeply miss member Travis on RPF and his fountain of knowledge that the likes of Charlie couldn't even imagine, his passing was such a shock to me. -
@Truth Your questions are irrelevant, really, when you can stop and reflect on it. Your high and mighty scrupulousness sees a certain cruelty and injustice at work in my calling people morons. There is a certain political correctness in you that makes you allergic to the word. It is oxymoronic also to think that a person has to be healthy and of sound mind to be able to be called a moron. That is what you imply when you say people who are sick cannot be called morons, but that is precisely what makes one a moron. Because one has to be sick and that sickness extends to the mind, making him incapable of making good decisions nor being able to learn from his mistakes.
And those who support charlie by gladly paying to subscribe may initially be driven to support him not knowing his true nature. But knowing his true nature, and acknowledging they made a mistake supporting him given he has shown his true face, and assuming they recognize Charlie does not deserve their support, they withdraw their subscription and leave - I don't consider them morons.
But those who continue to support charlie because they consciously believe charlie deserves their support, they are free to do so. But my opinion is they are still morons because they are are unable to question the wisdom and motive of Charlie's abrupt change in direction that calls into question charlie dropping his support for the pillars of Ray Peat's research and calling vitamin A a poison while Generaux and Smith are hailed on the strength of a hypothesis unproven enough to be called a theory while there are questions that remain as to whether vitamin A is really a poison or a substance that simply is in excess that makes it harmful, just like any beneficial substance would be when in excess. Also, just because the experience of having bad outcomes taking vitamin A existing does not extend to the entire human race (and perhaps only applies to a subset of it) further makes the hypothesis flimsy at best. And that if the experience of vitamin A being toxic only applies to a US population (or a heavily US-influenced western population) should beg the question of whether this population has been poisoned by modern western medicine (with its drugs and vaccines), then it is premature to even state vitamin A in and of itself is toxic. Supporting someone with a penchant for jumping the gun without much real science and careful inquiry behind him is moronic, and highly dangerous to one's health.
I'm glad you ask this question of whether I should call people morons. I give you a long answer and hopefully you can get off your high horse.
Have you ever wanted to call someone a moron and never do just because it doesn't sound correct? But deep inside you consider him a moron? Are you more concerned about your image in being highly cultured? Or are you merelycurrying the approval of your peers in doing so?
-
@mostlylurking Tucker is just controlled opposiotion. There will always be a "good" part and a "bad" part, the true ones opposing to the system we don't see them on the internet with millions of views, they will not want us to see. It's clearly a division made for us to be divided.
-
Are there even mor... people who pay for the RPF account left? I'm not asking this out of presumptuousness, but I would really be interested in this. Ist there a way to see how many "unique" users (not Charlie's burner accounts) pay for the forum? It would surprise me if it was more then ten at this point. I doubt he makes significant money, although I could be wrong.
-
@yerrag They're relevant, it's your arguments that are absolutely not, according to you if someone commits an action that you consider unintelligent, it's a moron, you added then if the person repeats it, if I find several of your comments unintelligent, I can call you a moron, it is fine according to you?
"Oxymoronic "I never said that you have to be in good health to be considered a moron, calling someone a moron implies having animosity and or disdain towards the person, whereas in this context it's a good portion of people in sub-optimal health and / or with health problems who just want to get better, you call them moron because it bothers you that according to you they contribute to "Charlie's empire", yet you have no figures on the number of people who pay for the forum
Some people don't care if it's Raymond's or "low VA" ideas that are being discussed, they just think they'll get better on the forum and/or they've seen benefits from using it, so they want to keep it up,
you don't know how many people pay to "support Charlie"rather than for their own benefits, it's a fantasy in your head
"High horse "you project your own tendencies
-
You ask why, I give you my answer. You aren't satisfied. Nothing I say will anyway. When I use a word, I pick what describes well without use of an adjective, and intentionally chose "moron." There is always one guy who will act as Miss Manners when strong words are used, and you stepped up on your high horse to criticize me for using such a strong word. When I answer you cogently, you have nothing else to say but call me a moron. Perhaps you felt insulted because I used the word oxymoronic to refer to the idea you espouse that implies only healthy people can be called morons, exposing a fault in your logic, and you then think I called you a moron, betraying your lack of comprehension, and you retort because you are hurt and now you call me a moron.
You are one funny person. Doing what you condemn my doing in the process. Are you always this way? Must be a hell of a life.
-
@yerrag You haven't answered many things:
Is it okay to call you moron if I find many of your posts unintelligent?
You don't know how many people pay to be on the forum
You don't know how many people pay with the intention of supporting Charlie rather than just because they perceive a benefit from being on the forumIf anyone is "miss manner" between the two of us, it's you, considering that you have disdain and animosity towards people who pay for the forum because according to you they are enough to contribute to "Charlie's empire" whereas this supposition is a fantasy
I didn't call you "moron" once, learn to read better.
I didn't feel insulted once, "oxymoron", I never said no imply that only healthy people are legitimate to be called "moron", I said the probable causes that make a major part of people pay the forum, being sub-optimal health, potentially health problems, and also because they perceive a benefit there, it's you who clearly manifests an error of logic ,read better
The only one who is hurt is you, that's why you feel disdain and animosity towards people who pay for the forum, even if a good part of them likely just want to improve their health, and you yourself have actions and words that lack intelligence

Keep on trucking. Why you keep on asking how many people pays charlie makes no sense at all. Does no one, or 10, or 100, or 1000, make any difference as to whether they are morons or not? You just don't get it. Hence- no relevance. You just want to blur this exchange into a meaningless one.
You must spend lots of time pestering people perched on your moral platform ad nauseum.
You know, perhaps I should simply avoid using strong words just to make you happy. Yeah, starting with "moron." Any another word you want to cancel? Then we can waste our time on better things.
-
It make total sense.
Do you think it's okay for me to call you moron if I find your posts unintelligent?
-
If you can't understand, how does that make me a moron?
-
@yerrag The same argument can be made for people who pay for the forum, simply that you do not understands their actions,
Yet you prefer to call them morons based on your fantasy that they do it to support Charlie, I speak with several people who know Charlie's suboptimal actions and who pay for the forum only because they perceive a personal benefit, and prefer to stay on the RPF rather than this forum
Do you consider that Hans and haidut are morons because they still pay their forum membership?

Would you tell your mother or an adult family member you like that she's a moron because she's paying to be on the forum for her own personal benefit, even though she'd be the only one paying and that wouldn't allow Charlie to continue the forum? Probably not(unless you are in a very low energy state), so it's obvious in your fantasy that the number of people who enable Charlie's actions by paying their membership and/or doing so with the intention of supporting Charlie legitimizes your disdain against them and calling them morons, compare to if it would be only a single person paying for it
-
Now you are communicating more directly. I understand now why you are incensed, and rightly so. I must be wrong in assuming you're American, as Americans are more direct.
Then I will not call them morons because they are benefiting from RPF. They have something to gain, and are not morons. They have a good reason.
You could have said so earlier. If you can just be more direct, I can understand your side better.
I thought for a while you wanted to ban the use of certain words in the forum. And I wrongly thought you were objecting just because you have a PC orientation.
As it stands, I no longer support charlie nor RPF. Charlie's recent actions and decisions may still be seen in better light by those who support him and his newly officially adopted stances on vitamin A, and with a smaller base of members, would need more subscription revenues from less product sales or ads. But I may be wrong as charlie may become in the good graces of Google, and be able to draw a lot more eyeballs and subscriptions as he goes over to their side.

In your fantasy, how do you know how many people pay their membership to support Charlie rather than for personal benefits?
-
Sounds like someone is upset they pay(paid) charlie some of their hard earned money. At this point if you are still paying for a membership and have no financial investment like haidut then yes you are a moron. Even if you leaned towards agreeing with the low A movement, charlie’s manic behavior should be enough to turn anyone with semi functional brain away.
-
@sphenoid I dont, read better,
I dont suggest people continue to use the forum. -
You know, I don't have a crystal ball.
But I think more pay to support charlie than personally benefiting from RPF.
Some members, like haidut, contribute to the site with posts of value and draw more members in and can say they don't need to pay subscription fees because their posts bring value to the site. If they pay for the subscription, it is to support charlie.
But haidut is a poor example though, as he gets product sales from being in the forum and so he benefits from increased product sales through having more exposure being in the forum.. Which is likely why after being banned by charlie, haidut would rejoin gladly after being let back in by charlie.
But members who were grandfathered (being members under the old free model, ie no subscription needed) don't have to pay anything to continue their membership. Those that do voluntarily pay subscription fees either to show their support for charlie mainly even though there is not much benefit from being members, or because they see themselves supporting charlie because they actually benefit from being members.
I never paid any subscription fees. I used to post a lot and I think that my many posts have some value in providing some answers to health issues. I also felt I have ceased to benefit from the quality of posts from members, and so I wasn't compelled to subscribe. And that was way before charlie went on a new crusade against vitamin A. If I were still a member, I would be more inclined to not subscribe if I weren't banned. I believe many subscribe not because they see the value of the site as much as they wanted to support a site that carries on Ray Peat's legacy. And some would simply want to support charlie for maintaining the website.
But if RPF would keep losing members that provide posts of value, which already begun even before. Charlie took it to a new direction that is more anti-peat than before, it would not be able to sustain itself from an exodus of subscribers.
RPF, as I said in previous a previous, has been a failure. Its main pillar is that optimal sugar metabolism is the key to health. Yet the site is vexed and stuck in not knowing how to make its members transform themselves from being poor sugar metabolizers into optimal sugar metabolizers. Ray Peat spoke only about the superiority of having optimal sugar metabolism, bit never spoke how to go about making that transformation. The site could have provided that a workable blueprint on how to go about that transformation, thus enabling many members towards the path to metabolic health. But it never got that going. There was a member named Cirion. He was piling on weight taking in lots of sugar because he believed sugar was good, but his body did not metabolize sugar well, and so he suddenly dropped out never to be heard from again. We don't really know if is still alive.
I feel charlie would be better off refocusing the website towards making the transformation to optimal sugar metabolism be a key goal before he embarked on his anti-peat mission.
I hooe a site such as this would be such an enabler, and that alone innitaelf would be a milestone achievement.

I believe there will be a time when those who are opposing the dark forces will turn the public opinion for their benefit. It is/will be like turning a giant enormous cruise ship around and will take some effort and some time. Timing is everything. Because the masses are poisoned and brainwashed, public opinion can't turn on a dime. One thing is certain, things are not going to just continue along like they have been.
Take the time to read The Great Taking. Or watch the documentary. Do you really think things are simply going to rock along in perpetuity like they are now? There will be a great reckoning to go with the Great Taking.
Yes, there are those who need us divided and work hard to keep us that way. But there are also now those who want us to come together because we are a massive force to be reckoned with when we are united against a common enemy. Note also there has been a Great Poisoning. Like Gerald Celente likes to say, "When people lose everything, they lose it."
-
@yerrag Great points! I was also grandfathered in. Would not pay a cent as the quality of information has declined, with the exception of Georgi's contributions which I can get elsewhere. I do still like to go back and read posts by the great and snarky Burtlancast, who I'm sure Charlie banned last October. Burt made a lot of good and entertaining posts about the insanity of A restriction.
-
@Truth Never said you did. I'm just reiterating that anyone who pays for a membership is a moron. It doesn't matter who they are or what state of health they are in, if they can't see --at this point-- how much of a waste of money it is to fund someone who behaves like a mentally ill child then there is no helping them.
