The combination of vitamins A and D prevent colds
-

Here is content of Chris MasterJohn's post on X about preventing colds. My guess is that the post may also be relevant for this year's "super bug". The doses in the table above seem excessive to me.
The ability of science to go absolutely nowhere in 75 years is truly incredible.
IG Spiesman showed in 1941 that vitamins A and D prevent colds when given together and do absolutely nothing to prevent colds when given alone.
So what are we doing in 2025? Aggregating trial after trial showing vitamin D doesn’t prevent colds when given alone.
People who make themselves slaves to the evidence base and subjugate themselves to the biases of the researchers who created that evidence base will point out that Spiesman’s trial was not as statistically robust as a modern trial and will argue we should ignore it and focus on modern meta-analyses.
The critique is true. But Spiesman was not operating in a vacuum with his own random hypothesis.
He was investigating why trial after trial had shown that cod liver oil, which has a balance of A and D, prevents colds, but A-rich D-poor halibut liver oil does not.
This was in the midst of a massive campaign to optimize immunity against measles, mumps, chicken pox, and rubella by importing millions of pounds of cod liver oil per year while trying to make the American industrial work force solid as rock by preventing people from calling out sick with colds.
The fact is that most science is not good because scientists pay too little attention to the histories of their own fields, work on incremental knowledge instead of big ideas, and chase grant money instead of trying to do the necessary public service of focusing on the most important things to know on the frontiers of what we have already discovered.
Science marches ever forward, into an abyss of meaninglessness.
If you want to not get sick, do what the Northern European peasants did for hundreds of years before clinical trials were invented and take some cod liver oil.

Is this the reason why I haven't gotten sick since taking 25k IU A and 10k D? Actually, I did get a cold once but it was only a couple days and otherwise almost nothing.
this year's "super bug"
Is THIS the thing that's been giving people colds lately?

It is being called by different names.
Current influenza activity levels. The darker the colour the more activity.

@engineer - Vitamin A & D is probably not the full story. Chris MasterJohn has a checklist which uncludes other things that you are probably doing as well.
