I had a friend with something similar. Had years of pain. Tried all sorts of doctors (he is a doctor), MRIs, PT, chiro manipulations, meds. He finally found a PT who found the problem. Part of the facial nerve runs under the occipital bone and it was being pinched there, even tho none of the pain was back there. He had some sort of manipulation of the area and got pain relief. He said all he gets now are occasional little twinges of pain that are mild and don’t last long. Ig it’s unlikely that you have the same problem. But sharing just in case
