Does anyone know of any remedy, cure or at least a way to reduce the pain?
My ideas have been: pregnenolone, DHEA, emodin, androsterone, aspirin, vitamin D, glycine, B vitamins, L-tyrosine, lysine, olive leaf extract, niacinamide, theanine, agmatine, phospatidic acid, cyproheptadine and tianeptine.
Maybe rufinamide? Benadryl? Its dangerous block sodium channels?
Its good block calcium channels? Cypro do this.
Ive been prescribed eslicarbazepine but Im afraid to take because of all the side effects including increase serotonin in the brain.
Thank you very much,
Facial neuralgia can be caused by thiamine deficiency
https://www.objectivenutrients.com/insights/thiamine-ttfd-nerve-damage-trigeminal-neuralgia-hearing-loss/Years ago (1994), I experienced severe facial nerve pain when I was being chelated for heavy metals. EDTA IV chelation is known to deplete thiamine. I didn't know enough then to understand the reason for the pain, but thankfully my doctor did; he had me take 16 b-complex capsules daily for years (4 caps, 4 times a day); this equaled to 1600mgs of thiamine hcl daily.
My facial nerve pain (1994) resolved in about 7-10 days. During that time, the only thing that I found that helped with the pain was application of hot wet compresses.
Decades later, after I had stopped supplementing vitamins, I went through years of TMJ, bruxism, jaw pain. All this resolved a few years ago when I resumed taking high dose thiamine hcl.
My own health issues require that I take high doses of thiamine hcl; I take 1 gram, two times a day. I'm living with high oxidative stress that is caused by mercury toxicity. High oxidative stress depletes thiamine. The high dose thiamine resolves the high oxidative stress and has been tremendously helpful for multiple health issues.

@Anakin Maybe try aspirin. It works wonders for pain relief in my experience

Unfortunately I have tried thiamine ttfd and aspirin but I still have pain.

I couldn't tolerate TTFD myself, because my glutathione was low, due to my high oxidative stress that was caused by mercury toxicity. I take thiamine hcl instead, high dose. It has resolved a multitude of health issues for me. I no longer have TMJ/bruxism/neuralgia in my face. I also don't have digestive problems and allergies any more (among other things).

@mostlylurking I have no problems with TTFD just that my pain continues.
-
@Anakin How much TTFD did you take? How long did you take it?
-
@mostlylurking 100 mg, I bought a big bottle at Objective Nutrition and I'm going to finish it, I've been taking it for two months
And Im feelin OK with 100 mg no bad side effects or reaction I just have my horrible pain all the day
I want the pain to STOP because I love life I dont want be in pain 24 hours

You could try taking 2 a day instead of one. You could conceivably need more than that. Or (and) you could get some bulk powder thiamine hcl and try taking some of it also.
Did you get the pure TTFD or did you get that mix?
When I first started taking thiamine hcl, I tried taking 300-350mgs of it in water only, an hour after eating lunch. I was in a lot of pain and aspirin wasn't beginning to touch it. Within 45 minutes of taking the thiamine hcl, all of my pain disappeared, my brain fog lifted, and my body temperature went up a full degree to normal (98.6). So I drove to the grocery store and did the shopping for the first time in weeks.

@mostlylurking TTFD puro.
With a little magnesium, how would that other one help me that this one hasn't already? Isn't 200 a lot?
-
@Anakin Everybody's different; it depends on a lot of variables; a big one is how much oxidative stress you're under. Dr. Chandler Marrs has some excellent videos where she talks about some of her patients. Some of them are taking as much as a gram + of pure TTFD.
Here's a video with Elliot Overton about mega doses.
I personally was unable to tolerate even a single capsule of TTFD because my glutathione level was very low. See here. But I could tolerate thiamine hcl in high doses with no problems. That's why I'm a fan of thiamine hcl. That said, my husband takes 200mgs of TTFD daily and has never had an issue with it.

I had a friend with something similar. Had years of pain. Tried all sorts of doctors (he is a doctor), MRIs, PT, chiro manipulations, meds. He finally found a PT who found the problem. Part of the facial nerve runs under the occipital bone and it was being pinched there, even tho none of the pain was back there. He had some sort of manipulation of the area and got pain relief. He said all he gets now are occasional little twinges of pain that are mild and donโt last long. Ig itโs unlikely that you have the same problem. But sharing just in case

@bear Thank u my friend. I think I have some type of central sensitization that makes me have this constant pain, I would like to calm my CNS and end the pain cycle but I can't do it.
Im taking tianeptine now, Its my hope.
The serotonin drop with cypro has been good for me but the antagonism of dopamine and choline is too strong and make me feel too tired and without motivation. Tianeptine feels better.

@Anakin Have you tried DMSO? I have found it helpful for pain.
