I’ve repeatedly tested high in fasting insulin (17) and high in fasting free fatty acids(.9-.7) the past year. Acipimox has been shown to lower ffas and fasting insulin. Would NMN, Niacinamide or Nicotinamide Riboside work equally as well at lowering fasting insulin and ffas? I know Ray has said niacinamide blocks ffas and Haidut has mentioned the other two, but I don’t know if any of them would also lower fasting insulin. It doesn’t look like Acipimox is even a choice in the U.S. or I’d request it, but the other three are available. Fasting glucose around mid to upper 90s, a1c around 5.6 on the verge of “pre-diabetes”. Test on the low end and has been much of my life. If I can’t figure out insulin resistance via these substances+diet, I will likely try injecting test and see what difference that makes, but that really is a last option since I’ll likely need it for life. Hflc (80ish carbs) did bring my fasting insulin down (from 17 to 8), but that doesn’t seem like a good long term solution.

RE: Constipation Woes
High carb low fat has worked wonders for my digestion. I do eat a good amount of starch for what it’s worth.

RE: Danny Roddy on "avoid liquid thyroid"
Something he said to me a while back on the liquid thyroid is that it hits your system/bloodstream very quickly, but I never particularly noticed when I took tyromix.

RE: How to restore glucose oxidation/ insulin sensitivity?
What thyroid dose/brand are you taking? Have you checked fasting insulin?
