        Check Dan Wich's site for some ideas: Toxinless

        https://www.toxinless.com/famotidine

        Edit: apparently Pepcid Complete (10mg Chewables) are the "safest" in the list he has posted. But check the full ingredient list.

        Unless there's another online source with a cleaner formula.

          Unless you are prepared to take artificial colors, it looks like there is no ideal solution.

          @haidut, I've read/heard your interesting comments on Famoditine. Is it something Idealabs might consider?

              Okay, so maybe not everyone will be inclined to go through these steps, but if you really want to take Famotidine in a "clean" way you can look up that post by DaveFoster on RPF. It worked for me well.

              It's basically very similar to the concept of dissolving aspirin in warm water and baking soda and waiting for the chemical reaction to finish before filtering the aspirin water out of the excipients.

              Take your Famotidine tablets and dissolve them in hot water. Instead of baking soda you need to use acetic acid. In my case, I always used apple cider vinegar. Pour 1-2 tsp in the glass and stir it up. After a few minutes you can carefully pour the water in a separate glass, or just drink as is, but don't drink the stuff at the bottom of the glass.

                @BioEclectic the ā€œsafestā€ on his list contains ā€œaluminum lakeā€ dyes… fuck no.

                Its a shame that Famotidine is barely water soluble, and is definitely no more water soluble than it’s excipients. Very hard to extract the active from pills.

                  @Mulloch94 Famotidine is not water soluble. Is it soluble in vinegar? If not I would think that the Famotidine itself is included in the waste at the bottom of the glass…

                    @sightseeker god I really wish he would sell this on idealabs. I’d buy it so quick.

                      @saturnuscv Famotidine is slightly soluble in water and freely soluble in acetic acid. The vinegar is added to enhance the extraction process.

                        @Mulloch94 ok so then my question would be: is aluminum lake, talc or silicon/titanium dioxide soluble in acetic acid?

                          @saturnuscv Talc, silicon, & titanium dioxide are all insoluble in water and weak acids like acetic acid. Not sure about aluminum lake.
